I wish I knew what I am learning now 50 years ago! That’s right if I had started a little coin collection when I was 8 years old -Oh my the possibilities.

This site is for boomers like me who are just learning more about the wonderful world of coin collection, investing or just want to check out what they have in their pockets. Frankly, that is where I am at right now. I want to look at my current change and know what is worth keeping or cashing in with a dealer.

I also know a more folks who are totally clueless about the collections they have in coffee cans, stockings or piggybanks. Some have coins given to them by relatives. But they still have them uncovered, in a drawer somewhere.

Also, many want to start collecting but just don’t have a clue. So, I will post as much information as I can about great sites with credible experts. I don’t have a coin collection. I must admit I am probably more on the find it and flip it side of coins.

In other words If I find a coin with silver value or rarity it does not get stashed in my house. I will get rid of it quickly. I no longer have jars of coins sitting around. Now, it is hard to find a loose coin even in my car. They get rolled or sold very quickly.

Folks during these times of economic challenges we just must check out what we have, cash it in or collect it the right way. Many of you will want to encourage your grandchildren to start collecting and observing now in their youth.

As for me, I just want to learn and share more  about this hobby that I was clueless about in my youth. I also want to find that error or rare coin that I can sell very quickly. If I find them they will rest in a safe deposit box only long enough for me to transfer them to the hot hands of a collector. They WILL NOT BE IN MY HOME.
